Why use FindThatFont?

Even the almighty Adobe Photoshop does not
show a preview of your fonts

Almost all commonly used illustration, design or writing software does not show a preview of the fonts you have installed on your system; mostly you’ll only get to see a long list of font names. Even if you have a program that does show a preview, it is often a preview of only the highlighted font or, in the best case, a long scrollable list of previews. Imagine you have a computer on which 1,000 or more fonts are installed (not uncommon in the design industry) and you are looking for a single font that suits your needs. You would have to scroll through the entire list searching for the perfect font. Or worse: you’d have to select every font manually to see a preview of the selected font. That is why you need a nifty little program like FindThatFont.

There are other programs available like FindThatFont. Why use this one? Three main reasons:

  1. FindThatFont! is free. There are more font managers available, but most of these cost $20,- or more. FindThatFont! does not cost you a single penny (unless you wish to make a donation!).
  2. FindThatFont! groups your fonts into categories. I have yet to find another program which features the same functionality. Imagine you’re looking for a medieval, Gothic style font. Using any other software you’ll find yourself scrolling through all fonts searching for all Gothic fonts on your system, then scrolling back and forth to pick the best of the ones you found. Using FindThatFont you simply select the ‘Gothic’ category and FindThatFont presents to you only the fonts that you are interested in.
  3. FindThatFont! is 100% free of spyware, viruses, trojans et cetera, tested by download.com and softpedia.com
