Of course, just as I decide to try Chrome for a couple of weeks, Firefox updates to 3.5 and somehow I didn’t even notice. I thought I’d already updated TA to be compatible with 3.5, but it turned out that it was only compatible to the beta release. Anyway, TA is now compatible with the new Firefox. Even tough a few glitches may occur (the layout is not as pretty as it used to be, and I haven’t tested it thoroughly yet) the new version is downloadable from this site and in a few hours time also from the official addons.mozilla.org website.
Sorry for the delay, and have fun with the new Firefox.

Yesterday night, over a month after the release of FireFox 3, I could no longer pretend to be too busy to make TryAgain compatible. All the desperate cries for help upped the urge to come to the rescue and save the day with a new version.
New features include:
- Firefox 3 compatibility (obviously)
- Does not refresh the SSL Exception page
- Stops automatic retrying when you start typing in the address bar
- Chinese language (thanks to Mozine.cn and commenter jojo115)

Christmas holidays - finally the time to do things that really need to be done, like getting the TryAgain extension for Firefox to work in frames and iframes. No extra functionality is added in this new version, but it finally works as it should. The Russian users can now use TryAgain in their native language (thanks to Pasynok), and it is updated to work with Firefox 3.0. If there are still any bugs that I have not noticed, or if you feel like translating this extension to Italian or Chinese, don’t hesitate to drop me a line. Thanks!

Has it already been two months since I last updated this website? Well, I got myself a part-time job since then, and I’m still working on getting a Masters degree, so I’ve been a little busy in the meantime. Somehow I found time to make some changes to FtF that I’ve been very eager to make but never got around to actually doing. The newest version of FindThatFont, the first version with a full version number (like that means something), is finally capable of not blocking the interface while refreshing the font list. This time it is fully threaded and also faster. Besides speed improvement I’ve made some changes to the interface, making it all somewhat more user-friendly and prettier, and I’ve added the functionality to alter the existing categories.
The newest version is available for both Windows and Linux. To download the Linux version, go to the downloads page.

Edit: there’s a new version of FindThatFont available. Read all about it here or download it directly using the download link on the left. This blog post is about the previous version of FtF, version 0.3.1.

New features are: ability to create a short-list of favourite fonts (for easy comparing of several fonts), search-font-by-name functionality and the ability to import and export the font database to easily translate the settings from one computer or user profile to another.
FindThatFont! is a handy and free tool that allows to preview fonts that are installed on your system and to classify them into over 30 different categories. By using this categorization you can find any font on your system faster than ever before.
FindThatFont is available for Windows and Linux. To download the Linux version, go to the downloads page.
